LAST NIGHT I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM
A song from Helen’s Memorial service

Last night I had the strangest dream
I never dreamed before
I dreamt the world had all agreed
To put an end to war

I dreamt I saw a mighty room
The room was filled with men
The papers they were signing said
They’d never fight again

The people on the streets below
Were dancing round and round
And swords and guns and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground

A quote from Helen’s obituary: “Helen dedicated her life to making the world a better place starting with her family and including her school teaching summer camp work, through to her extensive work as a peace activist and newspaper columnist.  She labored to support the causes of freeing the world from nuclear weapons and nuclear energy.  She worked with the Jubilee campaign to end Third World Debt.  She believed that if any suffered in the world that no one cold be truly free.  She started Peace Camp, a conference/retreat for people concerned about peace and social justice.  Helen will be remembered as a free spirit, a unique person with tremendous talent and endless energy and a heart that cared for the world and everyone in it.”
