Doris “Granny D” Haddock

Doris “Granny D” Haddock died of a respiratory ailment at the age of 100 at her home in Dublin NH.  She walked 3,200 miles across the country for campaign finance reform at the age of 89 then ran for the U.S. Senate against Judd Gregg at the age of 94.  Mrs. Haddock was working on a book when she died titled “My Bohemian Century”.  The  Associated Press reported in an article dated March 13, 2010:  “In her new book’s dedication, Mrs. Haddock offers readers advice: “You have to keep the young adventurer inside your heart alive long enough for it to someday re-emerge.  It may take some coaxing and some courage, but that person is in you always – never growing old.””
