| | Dear Friend,
Today the senate passed SB 7. A template bill from a conservative Florida think tank that Senator Avard copied word for word (really...look yourself) when asked if he really wrote the bill Senator Avard said "Uuuh, I think I had some help."
This bill will likely kick 17,000 children and families off of food stamps. This bill doesn't save New Hampshire money. It stops New Hampshire from collecting federal funds.
When Senator Avard was asked about the bill he said it was about "making sure that you don't got a million dollars in a trust fund and you're collecting food stamps." Senator, we have news for you...no one has a million dollars in a trust fund and is collecting food stamps.
We need a Democratic majority in 2018 and it starts with fundraising right now. Please consider donating $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford to help us fight back!
Need more evidence of what a Democratic agenda looks like versus a Republican agenda? Look at today's bills.
Democrats supported: SB 83 - Increasing the Minimum Wage SB 227 - Expanding Job Training Programs SB 208 - Property Tax Refunds for Working Families SB 236 - Reauthorizing Medicaid Expansion for 2 Years SB 223 - Funding to Protect Our Most Vulnerable Children
Republicans supported: SB 193 - School Vouchers that Allow Tax Payer Funds to go to Homeschooling Parents and Private and Religious Schools SB 2 - Furthering Reducing Business Taxes Costing NH $81 Million in Revenue Need any more evidence we need to make a change? - NH Senate Democrats |
