Jan.7 - NH Unemployed left out in the cold AGAIN

Every Child Matters in New Hampshire

Dear Pat,

Yesterday the United States Senate voted again to block Emergency Unemployment Insurance for the long-term unemployed. 59 Senators voted to end debate and have an up or down vote. The bill would have helped 1.4 million Americans, including 8,500 in the Granite State, and would not have added a single penny to the deficit. Both New Hampshire Senators Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte voted to end debate and move forward. Unfortunately, 41 of their colleagues blocked a vote.

Please call Senator Shaheen at (603) 647-7500 and Ayotte at (603) 622-7979 and thank them for their vote. We hope common sense prevails soon in the US Senate and they move forward to address this issue.
